I’m Whitney, my golden boy Walter and I joined the California Cowgirls in 2017 as a fill in rider and became a permanent rider in 2018! Walter and I came from a former drill team whom I had been competing with for 6 years. Previously, I grew up showing paint horses in Western pleasure and English. Throughout various competitions and rodeos, the California Cowgirls were always at the top of the game. The name was iconic, the outfits were classic, the riders carried themselves with class.
After getting married, I moved from the Bay Area to Amador county, just before the 2017 Cow Palace I received an invitation to try out to fill a vacant spot on the team. I couldn’t say YES fast enough!
Since then I have expanded my equine knowledge, gained friendships, and embarked on new adventures with this team!
When I’m not in the saddle I work full time at a children’s autism therapy program as well as manage our ranch where we raise cattle and Nigerian dwarf goats. Our ranch is also home to our other 4 horses, 5 dogs, chickens, and our pig Lucy!
I truly believe that life is short so fill it with love, laughter and animals!
